Frequently asked questions

Still have a question? Our team is happy to help over the phone.

(416) 483-0000
Can a dentist diagnose sleep apnea?

No. We screen for signs and symptoms and can provide oral appliance therapy once a diagnosis is made, but diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) requires a physician-ordered sleep study. If you have witnessed breathing pauses, gasping, or severe daytime sleepiness, we'll refer you to a physician for a sleep study.

What is TMD and can you treat it?

TMD (temporomandibular disorder) refers to jaw joint and muscle pain. Our dentists assess symptoms and offer conservative management such as night guards and bite adjustment. This is an assessment based on experience, not a certified TMJ specialty.
